If you ever need to fix anything to the floor, whether it’s a work bench in your garage or a piece of furniture in a bedroom, it’s important to choose the right fixings before you start drilling.

Concrete and screeded floors, don’t require any special fixings just a standard wall plug and screw, which are available from any DIY store.

Boarded floors are even easier, all you need is ordinary woodscrews. Just make sure they are not too long so that they don’t go all the way through the board, in case there are cables or pipes underneath.

Generally, the ground floor of your home will have a concrete/screeded floor and any upper floors will be boarded. If in doubt contact our Customer Care team (Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30).

Before drilling into any wall or floor in your home, it is important to establish the exact position of cables and pipes. The easiest way to do this is with a cable detector (available from DIY stores).
